Support in Residence

  • On‑site support: Live‑in Tutorial Teams and Residence Offices for communication, coordination, and ongoing assistance.
  • Application and review: CEDARS integrates special housing needs within the Residence Application and Special Housing processes, with confidential documentation and timely review.
  • Allocation: Where possible, accessible/adaptable rooms are allocated to better meet individual needs.
  • Inclusive community: Accessible event planning, simple feedback channels to report barriers, and periodic reviews to track improvements.

  • Students with documented disabilities or health conditions are encouraged to contact the Special Education Needs Support Team of the CEDARS Counselling and Person Enrichment Section (https://www.cedars.hku.hk/cope/sen-support) for information on special housing application procedures and related registrations.
  • For students with other special needs who require specific housing arrangements, please contact the CEDARS Housing Team at cedars.housing@hku.hk for application procedures and enquiries.
  • Provide relevant documentation to facilitate allocation and any required adaptations.
  • Engage early: Accessible rooms are limited and may require lead time for allocation or adjustments.
