Starr Hall, located in the Jockey Club Student Village I on Pokfulam Road, was established in 2001 with funding from the Starr Foundation. The Foundation was created in 1955 by Cornelius Vander Starr, a pioneer in international insurance. It focuses on grants in education, healthcare, culture, and the environment.

Starr Hall is a 24-floor building that hosts about 500 male and female students, including local and international students. The hall is committed to promoting communication and interaction between students with different backgrounds. Its goal is to foster cultural exchange and community life, helping students explore themselves through diverse interactions. Living together with people from different backgrounds provides students with many opportunities for personal growth and understanding of different cultures.
